Seeking to lower fuel and administration costs Homecare Gas Services Ltd, a Loughborough based, central heating installation, service and repair specialist, followed up an offer open to APHC members made by APHC Fuel Management Services for their new fuel card scheme.
With four vans in constant use around Loughborough, Homecare Gas Services was being billed some £1,000 monthly from its single outlet garage account. When the cost of managing this system was factored in, the financial burden on the company was high.
APHC selected abbey as their fuel card partner for the combination of abbey's UK-wide network coverage, the ease and efficiency of abbey's service management, and significant savings on fuel costs. Plus, the fact that the range of abbey fuel options ensures a scheme is available to suit all types of company and fleet management requirements, from sole trader through to major fleet operators.
These options are:
- diesel direct, which offers fixed price iesel from over 1,000 UK locations
- fastfuel, offering both discounted petrol and diesel from approximately 1400 Nationwide Service Stations
- euroshell, which covers 1/3 of the UK motorway service areas, plus sites on major trunk roads.
Homecare Gas Services chose the fastfuel card as their optimum solution. This choice overcame the problem of Homecare drivers having to re-fuel at the same garage, by allowing purchase at any UK Fuel or Texaco outlet.
Furthermore, by providing a weekly pre-set cost per litre, abbey has saved the firm some £200 per month. When added to the administration cost savings created by the customised monthly statements, the bottom line benefits are significant.
Tom Basnett, Technical Director of Homecare Gas Services Ltd, is impressed. 'Compared to our previous system, the fastfuel card saves a substantial sum of money each month at the pumps and greatly reduces administration time in the office.abbey(Fuelcard) 's deal through The Association of Heating and Plumbing Contractors was spot on for the smaller fleet such as ours.'
